Tiffany Huffman, Nurse Practitioner,
Freeman Carl Junction Family Medicine
Tiffany Huffman has a big heart for her hometown of Carl Junction and the joys of small-town living.
As the family nurse practitioner at Freeman Carl Junction Family Medicine, located in the heart of Main Street, Huffman can treat everyone in the family. She and her team see patients of all ages and a wide variety of health conditions, specializing in health promotion and disease prevention. They treat acute illnesses like the common cold, strep throat and the flu.
“I am very proud to help take care of the community where I grew up and where my children are now growing up,” Huffman said. “Carl Junction is the best community and getting to see friendly familiar faces helps to make this a great place to work.”
Freeman Carl Junction Family Medicine has a unique partnership with the local school district, which enables Huffman to work directly with K-12 students and staff. She’s available by phone to school nurses who serve as a liaison between students, teachers and staff.
“We offer priority scheduling for students and staff when they have acute needs to facilitate a quick return to school,” she said. “We also have transportation available if a student’s parent is unable to bring them in for a visit.”
Huffman’s career as a nurse began at Freeman Health System in the cardiology department, the intensive care unit and the rescue department. She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Pittsburg State University in 2009. Next, she worked in cardiovascular surgery at Freeman. She then spent four years at Barton County Memorial Hospital as a family nurse practitioner in the Med One Clinic. She has been with Freeman Carl Junction Family Medicine since January 2014.
Huffman and her husband, Frank, have four children ranging in age from 6 to 18. She volunteers with the Bulldog Youth Athletic Association as a coach for girls basketball and volleyball.
