It’s Christmas time in Carl Junction, and there is no surer sign Christmas is just around the corner than at the very first sign you see coming into Carl Junction, the “Carl Junction Welcomes You” sign, at 171 & Pennell. The sign sits behind the Welcome Garden, which has been transformed into a tribute to Christmas. The Welcome Garden, which is maintained by the Carl Junction Cultivators Garden Club, is the first of many Christmas-themed sightings to be found in Carl Junction this year.

The Carl Junction Lion’s Club places and decorates the Community Christmas Tree in front of the Carl Junction Fire Department’s Station #1 on Pennell Street. Additional Christmas decorations surround the Community Christmas tree, courtesy of the Carl Junction Fire Protection District.

Each year, the hardworking Carl Junction Public Works employees festoon the light poles on Main Street with illuminated Christmas decorations. The Christmas decorations are provided courtesy of the Carl Junction Area Chamber of Commerce’s beautification fund.

All of these Christmas decorations are placed in time to welcome visitors to Carl Junction for a great Christmas shopping experience at our unique shops, like Vintage Vogue and Circle T Collectibles. Be sure to check out the new CJ Pharmacy and Granny’s Touch Antiques, both in downtown Carl Junction. Great stocking stuffers, in the form of gift certificates, are always welcome gifts from our restaurants such as Bailey’s Eats & Sweets, Mi Torito’s and Randy’s Drive In. The holidays can be stressful, so we recommend a day at the DriftAway Day Spa for you, and maybe a DriftAway Day spa gift certificate for your favorite person on your gift list.

Be sure to visit Carl Junction for our annual Christmas parade, Sunday, December 2, at 2 pm on Main Street.

The Carl Junction Area Chamber of Commerce wishes you and your family a very Merry Christmas and safe holiday travels. We hope your travels will include a visit to Carl Junction and the fine businesses featured in the following “ShowMe Christmas in CJ” pages.
