Finding the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day can be a daunting task. Boxed chocolates, fresh bouquets and a night out on the town are tried-and-true methods of showing that special someone just how much you care. However, if these seem a little lackluster this year, Connect2Culture (C2C) may have the solution.
On Saturday, February 26, The TEN Tenors will be coming to Joplin High School Performing Arts Center to serenade audiences with some of music’s most enduring love songs during their performance of Love Is In The Air.
An Australian ensemble made up of 10 powerhouse vocalists, The TEN Tenors began wowing audiences in 1995. Through their unmistakable charm, extensive tours around the globe and incredible 10-part harmonies, The TEN Tenors have won the hearts (and ears) of more than 90 million listeners. From arrangements of chart-topping pop hits to breathtaking covers of timeless classics, The TEN Tenors surprise and delight in equal measure.
“The TEN Tenors are truly remarkable,” says Emily Frankoski, director of C2C. “This group has a natural talent for creating show-stopping performances – something we’ve witnessed firsthand.”
During C2C’s 2018/2019 Curtains Up Series, The TEN Tenors performed holiday classics and Christmas favorites for a crowd of more than 1,000. The show was a complete success, with rousing approval from those in attendance.
“Everyone was floored by The TEN Tenors in 2018,” Frankoski recalls. “The group delivered a show that left our audience clapping and cheering long after the final curtain.”
C2C eagerly welcomed the group back for a special encore performance, knowing their colorful repertoire and powerful arrangements would make any Valentine’s Day celebration swoon-worthy. But rest assured, this performance doesn’t just cater to the lovebirds.
Love Is In The Air, Frankoski explains, is a celebration of love in all forms – platonic or romantic. “Whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day with a significant other or spouse, friends or family members, this unique, unforgettable experience is a great way to show someone how much you care.”
The TEN Tenors’ Love Is In The Air is the fifth performance in C2C’s annual Curtains Up Series, which kicked off in the fall of 2021 with Schoolhouse Rock Live!.
